I love my Salvo, but I must admit this may be the perfect travel light for the tropics:

Wow - that might be just the ticket. I was really hoping everyone was going to tell me to leave the light at home because I just can't afford the extra few pounds.

According to our travel agent, the little puddle jumpers you take (in Fiji) to get to the outer islands (Fijian outer islands) are very strict about their weight requirements because the little planes can only carry so much weight. It's not a matter of just having to pay overweight charges - apparently they can make you leave your excess weight behind until they send a plane with some excess capacity. I can't imagine things are really that harsh, but who knows. And me being gigantic can't help any towards keeping under the weight requirement.

Looks like I might need to sell the idea of buying another "ridiculously overpriced flashlight thingie" to my better half.

If only you were going someplace nice, where you could break the news. Perhaps you could take your better half to Fiji sometime. I hear it's nice there.
