I was looking more for durable gloves in general and figured this might be a good thread to ask in. That's also why I was asking for good thermal protection as well.

Thanks

Wreck diving or rough work I use cheap heavy duty gardening gloves from your local hardware store. For Cold water I have a pair of 7mm neoprene gloves with the fingers cut off that I wear under the gardening gloves, this keeps the hands reasonably warm and allows movement of the fingers providing good touch and feel.

While they offer NO thermal protection, cheap leather saddle gloves are my choice. If I mess them up its $5 for a new pair. Trident used to make some decent thin gloves with leather palms/fingers, but I'm not sure if they are still available.
