Hey people of Olympus Outlet,

Just want to share some more pics of the xz1.
I went for my 1st night dive and it was a blast.
Now i really understand the need of the flash in supermacro mode.
In this week II i stumbled upon some very small critters and some young nudys.
I have to get the camera like way back just to get it in focus.
Hopefully oly will do something about it.
until then enjoy some more pics.

C&c are welcome.

cheers

you have some nice pics there! I have never seen a Bornella before.

Bruce

thanx

yeah its kinda rare.
and i was lucky there were 3 bornellas during this dive!

there's a guy dived a day after mine was taken, went to this same dive site,
stumble upon a bornella..
Could be their time to mate

Meyr, if you're still around, were these pics taken with the XZ1 in standard housing, onboard flash?
Incredible shots!

thanx,
Considering the raining season in Malaysia right now, yes im gonna be around for quite some time.. :D

To answer your question yes it is with the standard oly housing which is pt50 to be exact.
But i use a single d2000 for the strobe fired optically by the internal flash.

nice set!!!! can you share the settings you used? I'm having a hard time tinkering with settings.:idk:

What I meant, was that frequently threads go stagnant, and the poster is MIA.

What experience do you have in underwater photography? I know the XZ-1 has good potential, and lots of adjustability, but since I am moving up from a basic P&S, is it easy enough to get some decent shots out of the box? And how frustrating is the AF and shutter lag? Any regrets? What other cameras, if any, did you consider?

Thanks for any input. I am hoping to get a new camera in the next month for a November trip.
