Soggy:
They provide regulator redundancy but don't provide gas redundancy. Take that for what it's worth. The only real point I can see is for doing deepish recreational dives on a large tank.

True. I can shut off one post when I would have a free-flow. It does not provide enough redundancy to enter an overhead situation.
 
Thank you for the insight into my question.
I think it gets difficult when the DIR community has to support a single manufacturer but the Beuchat looks to be the Y-valve of choice - it certainly looks safer given the knobs are lower.

I have an H-valve on my single bottle. It has just enough space to put two DS-4 first stages on it horizontally.
Who manufactures your H-valve?
 
But I think you cannot use them in the US
Check the Valve Thread 3/4 USA the new standard EU are different....close really close thred but dangerous.
