I bought my Flathead VI about six months ago and I absolutely love it. My dive buddy just got his new Flathead VI yesterday and I noticed that all of his ports are 3/8 inch, whereas mine has the one 1/2" port and the others are 3/8". Why are they different? Did Zeagle just make this change, and why would they?

JT2,

You might have one of the Apeks "Flathead 6"

Apeks used to manufacture Zeagle's regs, but that ended I believe in 2000. The only way to be sure is to take them apart and inspect the "innards"

to the Zeagle site, that is. http://zeagle.com/reg2001_design.htm
I think like ID says, you may have the Apex(ks)/Zeagle flathead, which is still a GREAT reg. Do you have the ZX second and octo? Either way, Apek is the pioneer of equiptment divers have trusted in the most adverse conditions. You can't go wrong.
