Chad Carney:
I love the combining of the inflator with the octopus regulator.... but nobody has made one yet as durable as a primary regulator. Maybe Zeagle will step up to the plate with a homemade version soon that can achieve that goal!

Let's get the dive computer on the market, THEN we can discuss a "Zeagle made" alternate air source!!!!

Ah that Scott... He's a crafty one! :crafty: Notice how he takes a thread that has nothing to do with computers, and turns it into a tease for their new upcoming products... just to wet the appetite of the scubaboard readers... nicely done. :35:

traditional 2nd stage for the octo. I liked the inflate method and button placement, worked okay in out of air drills to adjust bouyancy, but after about 18mos, frequent small leaks through the mouthpiece (noted in thread above) and a more recently developed (didn't do it at first) tendency to breath very wet were discouraging.

All fixes/annual service were done by authorized Zeagle shops (I know about the problem with damaging the seat if the right tools aren't used) but the leak would return after several dives. I am quite compulsive about post dive freshwater soaks (and don't use brackish public rinse water).

Sometimes breathing the reg would stop it. Soaking in warm freshwater and using Salt-Away (recommended by dealer/shop) would clear the problem up for a while. Don't know why the wet breathing developed in the last year, I didn't have it serviced this year as I took it out of service. At the last annual service, the shop said plating was badly eroded.

Sincerely,

Bill

Chad and Scott from Zeagle both regularly post about Zeagle products on this and other boards so imo the customer service you receive is already better than any other dive company. This factor is the single biggest reason I buy Zeagle gear now. With all the warranty probs. I've had in the past with all the other companies I appreciate being able to contact someone from the manufacturer and actually get a response.

Good luck.

Thanks, deadend!!

Being active on ScubaBoard isn't always easy (and isn't always fun), but we feel that it is important for our customers (and hopefully FUTURE customers) to know that we are here and we are listening to their problems and concerns.

Dive safe,

Scott

Thank you all for your input.

After much consideration and research, and a little coaxing from Larry, I have decided to bite the bullet, spend the extra money, and go with the Atomic SS1.

The problems with the seat (on the Zeagle) seemed to be a recurring theme. And although the problem, if had occurred, would have probably been covered under the warranty I decided it was better not to chance it.

As for the Tusa and Scubapro, the main reason I did not go with them is that my LDS is not an authorized dealer/service center. So I would have had to go to two different shops to get annual service, and I would rather have one-stop shopping.
