Just like with the 'boyz' version, the directions state that you 'prime' the system at the start of the dive. This makes sure all systems are "go" and gets rid of pesky air bubbles...

Forgive my intrusion, but I have to wonder (on behalf of my wife..) - it appears there's a pocket of air in there, which would compress at depth.

a) Does this cause discomfort via suction as the pressure increases?
b) does this compression pose a risk of breaking the skin seal?

Do you overcome this by filling the empty space with water before the dive, or is it pretty much a non-issue?

Also, once duly relieved, does a portion remain to slosh around in that pocket?

Depends(TM) are actually a more reliable system for both genders. You can even drive cross country with depends and not even need to stop. Using the head on the boat also works well. The P and the She-P are simply albatross gear.

If you were a lemming, and 100 other lemmings jumped off a cliff, would you follow too?

For space flight, these make sense, but not for scuba.

nereas, there speaks a man. I personally do not want to sit in a diaper full of my own urine for an hour or two. If this gadget works well, it would let me take my cave class in a drysuit, which would be an awfully nice thing for me. I will NOT take the class in a diaper -- They don't work very well, they leak, and your undergarments take the hit. As one female cave diver told me, "Just tell your buddies they need to stand upwind of you."

And buy stock in febreeze

the idea is great and the design doesn't look bad. dont read to much into the shaving part, it wouldn't matter if you shave, wax, or use laser treatment to remove hair and if every little hair isn't gone that shouldn't matter either. Not that I am an expert on these, I do know a bit about adhesives and medical products. The adhesive should dissolve or at least loosen in water so removal shouldn't be painful. Trim to fit is a good idea as no 2 people are built the same but having a variety of shapes and sizes may also be necessary. I know of several women who would like a product like this and the idea is great, good luck. T

I am guessing that it is actually a coffee addiction issue at work here. Otherwise I cannot for the life of me envision what would be so difficult about using the head before and after your dive, and utilizing Depends for the occasional accident.

The beauty of a drysuit is that you can wear it half way, go to the head, put it back on quickly, unlike a drysuit, then gear up and be on your way. No muss no fuss.

On diving days, I completely avoid coffee, tea, cola, and anything else with caffeine. Only fresh clean water. And then there is simply no pressure. And I am guessing that G/I3 made this into a huge DIR issue simply because he was/is an old, old man. And thus, that is why the boyz do it.

Thus the inherent fallacy in the logic of "If condition 1 then condition 2" is shown to be erroneous.

Glue ... ouch !!! And what then if it doesn't come off? Consider carefully.

This thread is literally turning into a pissing contest! :rofl3: I know I would lose first. I could probably be beaten easily by an incontinent 2 year old. All these years of drysuit diving with a p-valve has made me soft and weak. I have to pee as soon as I get in the water and before I get out. Ohhh the misery! My dreams of having a big macho bladder are crushed. boo hoo hoo

ummm....how long are the cave dives?

all I know is that you'd have to skip the bike ride before trying to put that thing on.

No...I just don't think I could ice dive, or cave dive. (do they have pottys in those huts?)

I think you're forgetting how many of us are affected by the natural need to pee once immersed. Staying properly hydrated means I will feel the need to go pretty much every time I get in the water. Yep I can hold it on shorter dives and even up to an hour but I'm not really sure about much longer.

Also it is nowhere near as easy for me to doff and don a drysuit as you state above. In order to unzip and get the suit only half way on one has to remove hands and head form the seals. Having long hair makes it pull a LOT every time I put the drysuit on or take it off.

Also walking into an outhouse (most common rest room when I'm diving) with the suit half on means the sleeves are dangling. Couple that with the dangling sleeves of the underwear and you have a recipe for disaster. I'm always trying to hold everything so it doesn't fall onto the nasty floor or worse into the toilet.

There is no way that I will be able to simply go before and after once I'm full cave certified and doing deco.

My cave dives aren't very long yet, but someday they will be! It's the classes that get me, and the 90 minute open water dives.
