Anyone have a good ideas for something nice I can do for my Sister and new Brother in-law? I talked them into staying at the Cozumel Palace for there Honeymoon next month. My girlfriend and I are also going to be staying on the island at a different hotel. We plan on meeting up once or twice during the week for dinner and some activities. This will be my 4th trip to Cozumel in the last 2 years, They have never been to Coz before. I wanna show them a fun time! I was thinking about taking them to Kinta for dinner. I haven't been there before but I hear its amazing. And maybe an afternoon on the other side of the island for food at Coconuts. Any other good ideas? We will be there from the 11th of July until 18th. Anything big happening that week? Thanks!

Kinta or La Veranda, either one. The food is a little better (IMO) at Kinta, but the atmosphere at La Veranda is world class. I love them both. There are plenty of other great places to take them (or recommend to them) to eat, too.

It's very considerate of you to be staying at a different hotel, BTW.

Make sure they get in the water at least a little. Take them snorkeling at Chankanaab, Playa Corona, or Dzul Ha.

Take them to the museum.

Don't
take them to Carlos n' Charlies, Senor Frog's, or Margaritaville. Those places will give them the wrong impression.

Thanks. My girlfriend and I are diving everyday, they are non divers. They wanna do a discover scuba diving, but we will see if they do it. I do wanna go snorkeling with them and I think they has some stuff to see in front of the palace but I don't think I can get on the resort property?!?. Maybe I could drift down and meet them in the water.

Originally the wedding was going to be a destination wedding but that didn't work out with the family and friends. So we decided to all go on a vacation together and party it up! haha! But yeah, it's their honeymoon, We're staying at a different hotel!

Idea: Pay for a couples massage somewhere on the island for them! BTW, We went to La Veranda 2 nights ago on Calle 5 about 3-4 blocks inland from the water front (I THINK). Garden seating with all their lighting, good music, and the trickle of the fountain is VERY ROMANTIC. I think the new bride would love that....I still do 21 years into our marriage! :) We always go there once per trip. The ceasar salad prepared tableside is awesome. so was my shrimp dish prepared tableside and also the flaming bananas show done tableside also! Very lovely indeed for a special night out!

Cozumel Palace is offering $1500 Palace Money now and if they got their stay via an existing member then they will have that to use towards spa treatments and lobster dinners and other tours as well. Make sure that either you or they check to see if they receive the $1500 perk. Also you can purchase a day pass at CP if you want to join them, and I think the day pass is something like $89 per person?

They booked it via Expedia. So I doubt they get the Palace money. But I will look into it. $89 day pass! Is it worth it?

I'm not 100% sure if the cost is $89, but that is what I seem to remember being told when I wanted to have some guests come over one day on my last visit. Anyway, to me the $89 is not worth it simply because I don't drink. The food is excellent and the atmosphere can't be beat, but I would probably pass as a visitor simply because I don't drink.

But if you do drink then it is definately worth the $$$ in my opinion if you plan on partaking in the spirits... :)

I can think of a lot better things to do for $89 than hang around all day at a resort that I'm not staying at, no matter how many drinks they feed me. YMMV, of course.

$89 buys a lot of Dos XX.
