Just checked it out and it does sound appealing. Although I've been there and done that several times it may be just the desire to meet people from "who knows where" from these boards. It doesn't matter that I'm doing Coz in January. I just may have to think this one over seriously. The price isn't all that bad either.

Meeting fun people from all over that you have things in common with is wonderful. I always meet new long time friends at these events.
And the price, especially at that time of year is, is a fantastic deal. :D

Crap, already booked my trip starting June 29th.

Why June ??? Hot and the start of hurricane season?
I don't know where you are or if you've ever been to Coz, but for many going in June would be cooler than home. Since Coz is an island surrounded by a steady Caribbean current, the temps don't vary much. One source Cozumel Weather | Records | Averages - Yahoo! Weather shows the highest average high of 89 in August, average lowest high of 82 in December & January, but June average high is 87. Ah sea breezes...!

And while hurricanes have been known to come close enough to Coz to affect weather, a few actually hitting, it's a rather rare possibility.

Now given the common terms of such package trips: "Final Payment Date 4-26-11 (Non Refundable) (Credit towards future travel if cancelation is prior to 30 days before arrival)," I suggest it would be foolish to book without trip insurance. I know, it's cheaper overall in life to self insure and take your chances, but sometimes insurance is just prudent - and all or nothing if canceled within 30 days is too much I think. I've seen people do such without insurance then whine, but I just remind them it was their call - often after such suggestions.

I am very interested in doing this trip. The "singles" supplement seems very reasonable. Can anyone recommend a trip insurance company/link and tell me more why I should purchase it?
Thanks in advance.

I like the cost, benefits, and past experiences with TravelSafe.com but there are other good ones. For comparative shopping you might compare TravelSafe's Vacation Plan to others you look at.

Here is an excellent site to compare virtually all of the plans and companies offered in your state: InsureMyTrip.com | Quote | Help Use your state and info to see the comparisons, but they will try to book you there. I like to go to the source for additional views.

JimJam trip insurance is like I said previously it's sort of a peace of mind tax. You never know what life will bring to your doorstep. It's always best to have trip protection and not use it than need it and not have it.

The folks at Bay Adventures :: Dive Adventures and Island Vacations :: 888.599.3483 who are handling the bookings for us will also offer trip insurance making it truly 1 stop shopping. Call Al or Felix and I am sure they can give you a quote on it.
