AzScubadude, those are some great photos! Thanks for sharing them.

I stayed at Casa Del Mar and dove with Del Mar Aquatics last Feb. There is a lot of little life hidden in those rubble piles. Did a night dive out in the cove too. Wish a had a camera to attempt to take some of those great pics.

Del Mar Aquatics - rent your tanks for $6 and shore dive right there. Easy in, Easy out, rinse tanks.
Del Mar Aquatics is the dive op on the pier by the bridge. I'm talkng about the restaurant place to the right(North side) of the bridge. I think it use to be called Aqua. Unless you're saying that place is now also part of Del Mar Aquatics? Maybe it is? :idk:

Amazing photos! I look forward to a Coz. trip soon!

Yes, used to be called Aqua, now has a Spanish name I can't remember. They share one building with DMA. DMA is the south half of the building and formerly Aqua is the north half. Looked like easy in and easy out there too, but I never went there. I'd feel obliged to at least buy something there if I was going to use their property as my entry point. The shore rental tanks at DMA are barely more than the cost of a cerveza, though.

But shore diving tanks are free when diving with Scuba Mau, so I'd feel funny walking though Del Mar Aquatics to use their facility when diving with someone else. The restaurant has a great entry point and they didn't mind us walking through at all. One of the restaurant guys was even giving pointers to one of the newer divers in our group about how he was wearing his weights. I plan to bring some business to them when we go back in October.

Yes, If you're bringing tanks, it would be awkward. I'd use the restaurant in that case. I did 2 days of boat diving with DMA and my tanks for shore diving were free the rest of the week. Worked out great

These photos, though not the best, were taken on the Best Shore Dive in Cozumel.
That is the barge off the El Presidente Hotel. Scuba Du, can hook you up.

Azscubadude --- did you discuss your concern with SCC? It has been a few years since I've stayed at SCC, but at that time a large group came in and there were lots of divers on the big boats. But SCC was also running some smaller boats for some of the non-group divers.

You might have been able to solve the crowded boat problem with a simple request.

I've always been impressed by the spirit and attitude of the SCC people. I felt like they are genuinely proud of Cozumel and more specifically SCC, and they tried hard to help their guests have an enjoyable time.

Yes, I asked Willian very nicely if I could put together a smaller boat and he said I needed six people to do so and he had to have names and room numbers before he would do it.

I asked around and so did another couple I had met but we could only come up with 5 people (most people were diving with their groups). We even asked a couple other photographers but one was videoing his group for the week and the other one stayed on the bigger boat because he and his wife (she was a newer diver) liked the DM they were diving with (and had been diving with for a number of years).

I told Willian that we had 5 for a smaller boat for daytime or night dives.. he wouldn't consider it.
