Oceanic VT3 help please

Understood but my undestanding after reading and calling oceanic is that gas 1 is always the primary gas. You telling me that I can start with gas 2 or 3 (as self) and the screen will stay there AND transmitter one will not constantly alarm as lost link?

You must start with Gas 1 at the beginning of the dive. You can only switch to Gas 2 once you've submerged. The manual said that gas switch can't be done on the surface, so I would assume that once you've submerged deep enough for the dive computer to kick in, you can switch to Gas 2 or Gas 3 right away.

There's only one way to find out.:D
