I'll preface this by saying I'm a fairly techy person. I can figure a lot of stuff out on both Windows/Macs and iPhone/Android OS. But my new Geo 2.0 is going to be the death of me!

It was recommended to me by a number of people as being good for a newbie and fairly easy to figure out. Holy cow, is that last incorrect! :banghead:

The manual is just Greek to me. I can't even figure out how to access the log feature so I can see the info from my OW Dive 1 last weekend. I finish OW this coming weekend.

I paid the $8 for the online training, which I'm going to go through this evening, but for the meantime, how the heck do I access the log feature?

Thank you!

Hold down the mode button (top left) to enter the Dive Mode. You can re-hold the Mode button to exit dive mode.

From the Dive Mode the left side is used to navigate backwards and forwards, and to increase/decrease numbers. The select button "enters".

For Dive Log,
1. Hold down mode button
2. Press Mode button 7 times (or ADV button 5 dives), scrolling through M, U, F, A tables, etc

If you ever get lost, hold down mode (its like the home button on an iphone) and it will return you to main screen.

Do you have any experience with a dive computer?

Zilch experience with a dive computer. Thank you very much. I'm in the midst of the online class right now.

It is a horrendous owners manual. One of the worst I've seen. And the many user perogrammable options plus the watch feature makes the dc a real bear to learn and set up initially.

But once you have played with it a few times and get all the features set, using it to do the actual dives is fairly straight forward. Its been a number of years since I used one so no help with the process. Just encouragement not to get too frustrated just yet.

Ha, thanks!

@DiveNav has training videos. Might be worth signing up for.

(Ours were, but then we don't even dive nitrox so the only setting I ever change is time. And half the time I forget to do that.)

I did sign up for the training video. Got about half done last night. Makes a whole lot more sense now. Why the manual has to to be so complicated is beyond me!

You;re lucky you don't have to read the docs I write for my code...

I'm used to dealing with federal Customs regulations (19CFR) on imports, so I'm used to gobbledygook, but the Geo 2.0 manual is just ridiculous!

I see your Customs regs, and raise with the U.S. tax code.:) I feel your pain regarding Geo 2.0. online with divenav was the solution for me. Manual is 95% useless.

Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't have bought it.
