Well I had to make my own flow chart and writ down which feature each watch has and doesn't have... I only did 3 to start off: Zoop Novo, Cressi Giotto, Oceanic Veo 3.0 and watched some product demos/review of each..and Simulated dives.

Zooo novo
I don't like the gas setup or the main diving display but it's not a deal breaker, It is still on my list.

Giotto
Many say that the strap is too long you may have to cut it or fold it under, but it's easy to read
The main display has everything laid out exactly how I like it, the depth is right beside the NDL.... Water temp at bottom. It's not like some watches where the depth is way in the top corner and the NDL is at the bottom jumbled in between other data, and you have to look in 2 different places for what you really want to see. Nitrox is very easy to setup

Oceanic...
Easy to navigate and setup gases.. It uses 2 algorithms that you can choose from (rgbm not one of them) and I believe it shows which ta k you're using and which gas. I think with the zoop you have to flip to the other screen to make sure you're on Nitrox. This one also takes into account your gas absprortion from the previous dive, but research does not specify whether those other two also do this or not.

These 3 don't have a compass whish is perfectly fine.. And they're not AI, which I would like to have as a feature, or later when I get the transmitter. You can download the data from all 3.

I like the petrel I've given it a glance online a few times.. Not in my price range especially when student loan debt keeps me from buying gear sooner than I would like. (ugh!!) I feel like with this one I'm going to spend a more time setting it up. Not sure about this one yet.

That is one of the main reasons I ask considering an upgrade of my computer- I did not realise how much more visible some of the screens are compared to others especially in low visibility (as is the vast majority of British diving)
Which ones are?

Maybe this video will help us decide on a wrist computer? Let's test 20 different dive computers underwater at the same time :coffee:

I liked it.. Wish he could out it on his wrist though.. So I can get an idea of how large it is but I will Google around for one.

Electronic do fail for various reasons so I dive with a computer and back up with a bottom timer. I also keep a spare computer in my travel bag.
Two is one and one is none.

No divers, diving any commercially available decompression algorithm, get bent at any appreciable frequency. Compliance with the algorithm is the key
Who are all those people at the chambers then? There are 40 DCI incidents in the 2015 BSAC Incident Report. That is likely to be less than half of actual British incidents. Scale that up to where you live (although it turns out different places have different distributions of incident type) . People get bent on NDL dives well within the table and computer limits.

The video you posted shows a good example of the difference between lcd based and OLED type screens - I am now looking at the OLED colour screens which are readable even in murky water @30-40m.

Which will I buy? Not sure and not deciding until after DEMA where I would imagine any new models will get a preview.

The Big 3 you have the choice of in the UK, is the Shearwater, The EON Steel and The OTSC 2, 3, Sport or 4 With the GBP - USD rate the Shearwater is a similar price to the Eon Steel with a transmitter. If you don't want AI then you have the choice of the OSTC which our US cousins can't have as heinrichs weikamp wont sell the OSTC to them :rofl3::rofl3::rofl3:

The OSTC are open source software, I see more of them than Shearwaters in my area

Although I love my Eon and it's AI I am lusting deeply after an OSTC 4 as it's ages sime I brought a new "shiny thing". Their full range is Here

I suppose you could look at the Icon. I guess it depends on what you're looking for in the future and how deep your pockets are

Not sure that DEMA will bring out anything earth shattering computer wise

Scubapro H3 with AI, Ratio iX3M with AI, Liquivision Omnix (finally), a surprise.....
:bounce: ... deep 6 without ai, fins that propel you without batteries or use of muscles. Also flying cars :bounce:
