I have my eye on one so am keen too to hear user reports. Given it's not new technology I'd expect to function as well as any other.
Agree too. I think it will be a wonderful upgrade as well for those who like AI.

I will be taking mine for a week on a Blackbeard's cruise beginning this Saturday. Already updated the firmware and software. No different process than with the original Perdix.
My Perdix AI has firmware version 40 . The only firmware on the Shearwater website is version 38, which is the latest for the Perdix/Petral 2. What did you update to? Hopefully, it didn't allow you to install the older, non-AI version 38?

I just tried to update new software but was unable to do so. I'll contact SW.

Similar to Buddhasummer, I am interested in a smaller computer with all info at a glance. Although I am not interested in GTR ) info (similar to Kev on this) just my pressure and time. A new toy seems fun. I am sure that my wife would like the GTR information, in particular if it accounted for deco. One issue is that I have very narrow wrists and use a 1-2 mm wetsuit, so the bungy cords on the Petrel (or compass) do not fit well.
