Some fabulous sites so far.

1. Magic mountain Misool, Raja Ampat. A pinnacle with the top at 11m. Used by the BBC for their Blue Planet series as well as their documentary on sharks. Certain to see Wobigon (sp?) reef etc, Reef life from frog fish upwards, schooling hunters etc. These are all ignored as the star attraction is Manta's. It's one of the very few places where reef and oceanic mantas co exist and they are believed to inter breed (more data needed) Has a nice ridge down to 40m which is also a cleaning station.

2. Zenobia Cyprus. RORO ferry capsized in 1979 on it's maiden voyage (ballast computer error) it rests just outside Larnaca (10 min boat ride) It sits on its port side in 42m water. Still fully intact with trucks on top deck which you see without needing to penetrate. Life boats still in their davets. Stbd hand rail sits at 18m

3. White rock Musandam Oman 26.236698 56.495196 on Google earth. Small pinnacle coloured white above the surface from the birds. at sunrise looks like stainless steel. Great coral garden above 12m, a ridge drops to 30m where there is a natural bowl and then continues downward. The sand is at around 120m

You need a current to dive this site, best just after dawn great for schooling fish, baracuda, jacks, trevali queen fish etc Whale sharks are often seen here as are devil rays.

You do need a lot of experience to dive the site, as teh current can change, down currents are not un common and the water really flows past. Only reached by Dhow's from Dibba harbour and only dived with experienced people - This is possibly the only site I'm prepared to be in the water at 05:30 am
