    Staying Healthy Before the Trip.....

Let me preface this by saying I am not a pill popper or generally believe in non-scientific remedies....but I swear by a product here called "Cold FX" . I start taking it a couple of weeks before a dive vacation or ramp it up if I have the start of a cold...so far so good. Perhaps its just...

    Uses for Non-Serviceable Regulator?

I have an old reg that I can't get parts for servicing. I use it whenever I am in pool for a skills reviews session at the beginning of each dive season. If it gets banged around I don't care, and if anything happens...well, I am in a pool

Your number one tip to increase your time underwater.

I do not recommend this at all, but due to some recent personal problems I started smoking again after 5 yrs...stupid I know and I plan to quit soon. The weird side effect I noticed is my air consumption decreased dramatically... weird but true, and again I don't suggest this as the cons...

    Eating underwater

I was told that the trick to drinking from a glass bottle is to blow air into it. This causes the liquid to shoot out, otherwise you have a vacuum.

    Old Diver - New Dentures!

Hi, I know your pain......actually not quite. I got complete upper dentures about 2 years ago, I worried that my diving was over, but I have no problem using any mouthpiece that I have come across thus far. I don't use any adhesives. When I first got the denture it took about 6 months and a...

My Dive Knife Is Bigger Than Your Dive Knife!

Ok, I admit it I have one of those monster knives. I purchased it in the 70's and strap it to the inside of my leg. I also carry dive shears. I only carry the knife here around the Great Lakes. In the past I found it tangled when strapped to the outside of my leg, but since switching to the...

    Peak performance Buoyancy

Just came off my AOW with the PPB segment. In my case it was outstanding...a great instructor... I thought my buoyancy was pretty much dialed in before I took this course...but wow talk about an improvement! Can't say enough about it....your results with a different insturctor may differ.

where do i dive in great lakes???

The answer of course depends on what is too cold for you. I just dove Tobermory (lake Huron/Georgian Bay Ontario) at the beginning of August. The viz was 50'+, amazing wrecks and 44F below 60'. I dive a one piece 7mm wetsuit and found it ok.

    Hi from Ont. Can.

Hi and congrats. I just got back from my AOW/Deep weekend in Tobermory. The diving there is absolutely amazing. For water clarity, shipwrecks, and natural formations it is in my opinion the best diving in Ontario.
