Overnight stop - Cancun on the way to Cozumel

Hi all, After some good advice please. We're (me , wife, 15 yo son) heading on over from the UK to initially Cozumel. We land in Cancun airport at around 15:30 and then we're booked in a condo on Coz from 15:00 the next day (all happening middle of next month .. i.e. July). The question is...

July 2013: Hot July brings cooling showers, Apricots and gillyflowers. Who's with me?

Guess I'd best post up since you're low on numbers :) Myself, wife and son, 9th July to the 17th when we then head on over to Tulum. Diving with Liquid Blue and staying in an El Cantil condo.

    regal diving??

Sue, In general they are pretty good from my experience. I've recently booked another trip with them on the Infinity and I would have to say the sales rep I dealt with has been particularly helpful with some non-standard requirements of ours. If I remember correctly I've used Regal for both...

Anybody been to St. Johns and Fury Shoals

I guess it depends on the type of diving you enjoy most. Personally, I love that particular route. Given a choice of Brothers or St John's I'd probably go for St John's as it's "prettier" (in a vibrant coral reef way). Playground, Umma Kuf and Amphitheatre are truly memorable dives although...

Is there a best time to go to Tobago?

Sounds ideal to me! Any suggestions with whom to book with for the best price? (I'm in the UK if that makes any difference). Thanks!

Is there a best time to go to Tobago?

Indeed ... hence the interest in Tobago :D Teasingly BA mentions Hawaii but offer no miles seats and they used to mention the Maldives, again without flights to support it ... grrr. It is almost possible to get flights to the Caymans but I could only find one suitable return trip which was...

Is there a best time to go to Tobago?

Excellent :D Looks like a plan. Time to use some of the BA Airmiles that I've collected. Utter pain that BA hardly fly to any decent diving destinations , grumble grumble. Still it looks like Tobago is hardly slumming it! Really appreciate the input as I've never dived in the Caribbean...

Is there a best time to go to Tobago?

Hi all, I think my wife and I have pretty much decided to head on over to Tobago for a couple of weeks in the next twelve months, the question is though, when is the best time? One week I think almost certainly will be spent on the Wind Dancer and the other on land somewhere. In terms...

Red Sea, as compared to other places?? Liveaboard?

For wrecks then the north is better (though crowded) but for "aquarium" type diving then Fury Shoal and St Johns are superb. Playground and Umm Kuf are just stunning. With Brothers, Elphinstone and Daedelius I guess it's all down to luck. I've dived with 7 Oceanic White Tips at a distance...

    Seac Icaro Tech

Excuse the ramble below I hope it explains my wants/needs: I've seen a few threads previously about the Icaro but nothing overly conclusive. Life for my BC consists mainly of diving in UK quarries/reservoirs with a dry suit but particularly (sub)tropic diving, mostly the Red Sea. I see it...

    Breathing Theory

Nope, nothing to do with pulmonary disease (per se although that does affect the ability to exhaust CO2 from the blood). Purely and simply it's to do with the pH. Now a lot can affect the pH, O2 however is not one of them.

    Breathing Theory

FWIW, the urge to breathe is totally controlled by the pH of the blood (i.e. the effect of CO2 forming carbonic acid). You can have NO oxygen in your system at all and if the pH of your blood is above the body's set limit, you just won't bother breathing. One of the reasons you can pass out...

    The Brothers islands

Trust me .... it will ! :crafty: I love night diving and drag "Bonnet Ray" with me whether she wants to or not ;)(actually she's a very good night diver, better than me anyway) 'fraid we're on the Sea Serpent. Looks a nice boat but haven't seen a lot of feedback on it anywhere so fingers...

    NiMH FUD from UK?

Jim, The one concern I have over HIDs is that with my Greenforce F2 Pro Head torch, I can have a couple of spare lamps in my bags at the cost of about £5. A HID replacement is, what?, 80 or 90 quid? Perhaps I'm miserable but I can't imagine me throwing in a spare HID lamp into my travel bag.
