HELP....My nerves are worse then hers...

My daughter started her PADI OW last year at the age of twelve. She's just turned thirteen now and is soon to achieve junior master scuba diver (hopefully in the next few weeks). She absolutely loves it. Very relaxed in the water and a great buddy to dive with. Guess who's a proud dad?

    Back-Inflated and Wings

You may want to take a look at a set up from Oxycheq. I got a REALLY good deal from ScubaToys on an OxyCheq st.stl. travel plate, 30 lb Mach V wing (one of the most streamlined on the market) and their deluxe harness. It's comfortable, compact, tough as nails and doesn't need an STA. I love it...

Underwater saw operating off a scuba tank??

There are several companies that can supply hydraulically powered saws, I don't think that pneumatic power is a realistic option. Try any of the commercial ROV companies (Oceaneering, Subsea7 etc) they may be able to supply what you need or point you in the direction of companies that supply...

    Titanium or Steel

I'm with DA on this one. I'd much rather have a slightly rusty looking knife that I know will get the job done, rather than a shiny status symbol that couldn't cut melted butter. ok an extreme, but you get the point. After all a knife is a tool and not a piece of jewelry or a Christmas decoration.

Is O ring lube A must?

Personally speaking if I break a connection the o-ring gets removed, the sealing surfaces on both parts cleaned and inspected before inspecting/replacing the o-ring suitably coated with lubricant. Cheap insurance really.

    Hose length ?

Thanks for the link TSandM. Looks like the secondary (backup) 2nd stage routes up over the right shoulder and is secured around the neck on a bungee type arrangement. I assume that this would be the same setup whether the primary was on a 5' or 7' hose.

    Hose length ?

Thanks for the advice. Whats the accepted routing for the primary and secondary 2nd stage hoses if using the long hose primary? I only dive singles and have recently moved from a traditional style jacket BC to a BPW (I never knew that adjusting my trim could be this easy).

    Hose length ?

I'm about to order an Apeks XTX200 and want to get Miflex hoses for it at the same time. Can anyone tell me the length of the standard Apeks hose for the 2nd stage?

    Oxycheq ss traveler bp

I find diving with the OxyCheq travel backplate with the Mach V wing my single AL tank is rock solid without an STA.

    Sherwood SR1 ?

My local dive store manager has been drooling over the new Serwood SR1 since DEMA, which in itself is quite surprising as he has been an avid Apeks fan for years (not bad for an American). I love the compact look of the SR1 but despite the assurance of my LDS manager that it performs as well...

    Oxycheq ss traveler bp

I bought the Oxycheq travel plate and Mach V wing for my own needs but once my 12 year old daughter saw it she had to try it out, and she loved it. I think I might be buying a duplicate set up very soon. I don't know what sort of harness you are after but the Oqycheq Comfort one is really...

Ladies, help me with a wing for my daughter

My duaghter dives with a similar wetsuit and tank and currently with a traditional BC. I recently bought an Oxycheq travel backplate and Mach V #30 wing for myself but she was determined to try it out. Well the bad news is that she loved it. Damn this is getting expensive!!!

    Oxycheq ss traveler bp

To address you concerns with an STA I have to say that with the latest Oxycheq wing with the built in roll control device the tank lines up pretty well with the travel backplate, and there is no need for a seperate STA. I really like this setup.

    Oxycheq ss traveler bp

I recently bought one and have been trying it out over the last few weeks combined with an Oxycheq Mach V #30 wing and an Oxycheq comfort harness. I'm diving with a 3mm wetsuit and absolutely love the combination. The BP is comfortable both on surface walks and underwater, but having said that...

    Sherwood SR1

I've been looking to upgrade to a new regulator recently and have narrowed my choices down to either an Apeks XTX200 or a Sherwood SR1. One of my main concerns is the serviceability of the SR1 outwith the USA. Are there authorised dealers in the UK that could take care of my servicing needs?

    Sherwood SR1

Ok.... So I went to my LDS today to buy some weights and, as usual my mind wandered to looking at new regulators (again). I've had my eye on an Apeks XTX200 but my LDS showed me the new Sherwood SR1. I've heard that is on par with or even out performs the XTX200 and is such a cool looking 2nd...

    Freedom Plate poll

I looked into getting one of these backplates just at the time Eric stopped production. After all I'd heard on this forum I was gutted when I found out he'd stopped making them. I eventually went for an OxyCheq st/stl travel plate which I just got last month and so far am pleased with...
