More information: There will be a divers safety meeting at Fantasea Scuba in Port Charlotte on Mar. 9 at 6:30 PM. The meeting will also include a presentation on invasive species from Mote Marine. I don't know if we'll be looking for green muscles again this year, though :). Also, there may be a coast guard cutter present during dive times.

NOTE: THIS YEAR ALL DIVERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO CARRY DAN (OR EQUIVILENT) DIVE INSURANCE

Brian, I should have more information for boat drivers this afternoon.

Kewl that works. Jeff Take notes as I will not be able to attend the meeting on wed the 9th.

I am sending people to this link on the board from the local dive shops that are expressing interest. Let me know if I should send them to anyone Specific....

I think if they show up to the meeting, it'll be fine, but if they want, divers can contact Jim Joseph at Fantasea Scuba (941) 627-3888. Boat drivers should contact Bob Wasno (I'll get his number, or it can be gotten from Jim).

From Bob Wasno:

Good Morning, Folks!
Just a quick update for this years event to be held March 17 & 18,
2005.
We will be staging from the public docks across from the Pink Elephant
on Boca Grande. Debris recovery and afternoon "Participants Appreciation
Partys" will be held at the Boca Grande Marina (formerly Millers Marina)
Big Thanx to Aaron Diaz for making this happen. Should be a blast!

Ive attached a bullet list of need to know items. Please review as this
will make morning loading much easier.

A COUPLE OF NEW ITEMS!!!!
Everyone must pre-register. All participants (Divers, Boat Captains,
and Helping Hands) must respond with their name, dates of participating
and how you will be participating ( as in diver, Captain or helping
hand). There will be no walk-ups. This is very important!! All divers
must present their dive certification card or copy of certification.
Everyone will fill-out the University of Florida's Volunteer Insurance
Form. A copy of the weblink for this form is on this email attachment
and you may bring it with you to keep the line moving.
We will have a gauntlet-like receiving line to assure everyone that has
signed up has all paperwork in order. This is absolutely necessary for
accountability when finished with the dive for the day.

The Boca Grande Pass Enhancement Fund, Inc. staff has been working hard
to make sure this is the best year ever. Capt Dave Markett will be back
at his hush-puppy Gattling Gun (needs to be seen to be appreciated!) and
fish fry. Local distributors will assure plenty of refreshments. Of
course the great t shirt and special tote bag gifts to all and the best
raffle we've ever had. In addition, the folks at the Guinness Book of
World Records are looking to make an entry for the most divers for such
an event.

This is what you need to do NOW:
Review the attachment. Please direct any questions you may have to me
and I will forward to the BGPEF Board.
If you are satisfied with our demands to assure a safe, productive dive
event, respond to me to be added to the Participants List. If you are
part of a team that will be diving together, you may send 1 email
response, but include all names with your team and their respective
duties (i.e.-diver, captain, helping hand)

Very Last Note:
My BGP Clean-Up list has begun to gather a large number of emails that
are obsolete. Please forward this email to anyone you hear may not be on
my current list and they can let me know of their new address.
Thanx All! We look forward to seeing everyone back out on the water!
Bob

Newest information. BE SURE TO READ THE ATTACHMENT. It contains updated information, and not all of it welcome (to me, anyway). All recovered artifacts are property of the Boca Grande Enhancement Fund. That kind of burns me.

Hi Folks!
Hey, here is the updated link for the volunteer service form. I've also put the Bullet List in PDF format so everyone should be able to open it.

Participants registration list is filling up. If you have'nt sent me back the info on yourself (name, diver/boat capt/ helper & days you will be there), please do so immediately so you are not left out!
Thanx, Bob
