A good dive?

all dives good so far. some beautiful, some challenging, some good learning experiences, none boring. Buddy or not, I don't care. Learned early in dive experiences that you better depend upon yourself for all contingencies ---a buddy is icing on the cake (if he/she is good buddy)

i would say zero accident would be a good dive

1. A dive boat properly rigged out for scuba.

2. A captain and crew that know what they are doing. (some don't and its obvious)

3. A group of divers that you enjoy conversation with.

4. Enjoyable weather.

5. Enjoyable surface conditions.

6. Beautiful blue water.

7. Slow running or still black water.

8. Properly rigged lines.

9. No gear problems.

10. No high speed current

11. No major surge

12. Great photos.

13. Great fossil and artifact finds

14. No boat rides that go on forever.

15. Good prices

16. Friendly boat shop operators

17. Fresh water shower

18. Fresh drinking water

19. Helpful, friendly, dive masters

20. Virgin dive sites

A good dive is one when i exit the water thinking "Hmm that was a good dive".

Simple really.

There's a big difference between good and successful.
