nopers... "because" is a subordinating conjunction. it makes an independent
clause into a dependent clause:

indepdentent clause: i am happy to see you

dependent clause: because i am happy to see you


the seven coordinating conjuctions, coupled with a comma, are used to
join independent clauses:

she likes mexican food, but i like chinese

Hmm, reminds me of the song I had to learn in college (Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star) for the German: an, auf, vor, bei, nach, mit, zu ...?? I think they are accusative prepositions? Haha...it's been awhile.

...just a side note: I also was apparently bored/interested enough to read this whole thread. Sure is interesting what is spawned by an apology.

Not saying that just to promote apologies, although I've been guilty of needing to do that many times. Which brings up the whole alcohol portion of the thread!
