I think it has to do with where you are in the country. From Vermont I've never had a LP order take more than 2 days to receive. If you're on the western side of the country, Scuba.com is out of the greater LA area and is probably a better choice (with roughly the same inventory)

If service is important in your scuba purchase, your LDS is a better vendor than LP or another online store. If you can sacrafice service and want price, go the online route. You are unlikely to beat the service of visually inspecting your stuff prior to purchase and walking out the door with it.

I ordered recently from LP, the stuff shipped quickly and was a trouble free transaction.
