From what others have said, you can do several dives during the course of the day. Easily 3. Stay there overnight would be nice as well!

You can dive 'til you puke. There's a trailer right there for refils, short walk into town for lunch. Though we were recently looking for rooms for an overnight stay, and unless you want to spend around $200-300 per night you may be out of luck.

I'd suggest taking the 6:15 am ferry out of Long Beach. Usually pretty empty, you can spread out. Nice.

I have also heard that many (or most) of the hotels (bed & breakfasts) will not take 1 night reservations. I don't know if this is still true or not...but something to look into before going.

Good point Ryan. I found the same thing. They don't do one-nighters. Unless Dr. Bill knows of something...

We San Diegans will have to go out of Dana Point should wrinkles accept this as the Sept. Dive spot! I emailed http://www.catalinaexpress.com since their schedule only goes to Sept 7th. I will post their results when I get them. I probably would go back on the last ferry if my wife didn't go, which is most likely the case.

Sean, if we do Catalina I'll probably be bringing my fiance and maybe her kids, so if your wife can make it the non-divers can hang out together and do tourist stuff or snorkel or whatever.

Sounds fine by me..but I am not sure I will be able to make it... I wont know till the end of this month. I started a Masters program and some of the classes are on the weekends. So i wont know my schedule till later. But i will start a new thread
