D'Oh! Sorry to hear that eanxgirl. My tickets will probably run me upward of $2000 and a suspended liscense :(

Yikes! That's the big bad New Year's bubbly kind. Good thing you're getting so proficient at rowing a canoe! Now you just have to find a navigable waterway that will get you to work.

Yeah, no kidding, and in my line of work, I need to find waterways from Panama City to Baton Rouge to Hattiesburg, all areas I work in weekly.

So let's see how much of this I have right: you went to dive in Cypress but wound up in the Becton mudhole; paid how much to the canoe livery???; and got ticketed for speeding?
Y'all should have flown up to Boston with me for the the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert and then some time at the Mohegan Sun casino in CT. Woulda been cheaper for you too.

We found Cypress too :) if it makes the story any better - even got nearly 30 minutes of dive time in before we had to ditch the site to make it back to the boat launch with sunlight.

None of us had ever been there, I'd say the trip was worth it just for the fact that we familiarized ourselves with the creek run enough to get there on our own next time(this Saturday).

Bugman,
Can you say "TAXI!!!". Sorry for your loss :frown: .

Tom,
He just makes my cost of learning about Cypress look good. I thought I had it bad with just the canoe and tank rental but I'm not even close.

Hi darcy and eanxgirl. We'll miss you Saturday, won't be the same without'cha.

I'll make it, just won't be jumping on any charter boats anytime soon - gonna live up to my "title" whether I want to or not by doing as many free beach and spring dives as possible. This weekend being an exception - I can cut half a canoe and gas money for one trip. 4 hours of gas is doable with enough gas to get me through next week. 8 hours of gas and I'll be filling up again - which just won't do!

I may be able to get one of my buddies interested in going to Morrison Sunday regardless - my tanks get filled for free at the LDS since I pay $40 for each of them for the unlimited air... If it works out, I'll call Darcy, maybe she can make it down too :)

Looks like no diving for me this weekend. No one from the club wanted to go diving. Keep me updated on your plan though. I may be tempted to head out. Id like to hit the jetties sometime soo, but I need to bulk up on neoprene first. Was looking at a hooded vest yesterday, which should keep me warmer.

Sorry to hear about the tickets guys. That stinks. I can only hope Suprbugman got his act together in the paddling department! They provided much entertainment on the canoe/dive trip. I'm still up for Morrison/Vortex if anyone wants to go this weekend let me know. I could do Cypress if I could find a buddy to split the costs.

Hey SuPrBuGmAn - on that ticket thing - they must have some traffic ticket-specializing attorneys up there in wiregrass country. They have a bunch of them down here, and they seem to be pretty good at getting tickets dismissed. Whatever you pay one of them is going to be waaaaaaaaay cheaper than what you'll pay to the court and your insurance company.
And Darcy - a quote from Rabindranath Tagore in your signature? Most impressive.
