best place to snorkel in the keys

i'll be in miami in march. looking to drive to the keys to snorkel, where would be the best places? already been to pennekamp and already planning on going to ft lauderdale by the sea.

I haven't done this, but my daughter has.... in the Bahia Honda State Park, a snorkel boat goes out to Looe Key. Supposed to be beautiful.

I also agree with Bahia Honda and Looe Reef, which are both in the Middle Keys. At Bahia Honda you can snorkel from the beach, one of the few nice beaches in the Keys. If you are only going to Key Largo, Molasses has some nice snorkeling if the waves are laying down, but take a snorkeling boat instead of a dive boat. The dive boats will generally anchoring on the deeper balls.

Looe Key is nice. There are several ops that run snorkel boats in the Big Pine Key area. Also snorkeling the patch reefs around Marathon is nice. Capt. Hooks runs a nice stable Corinthian out to the reefs twice a day. Dive and Snorkel Trips with Captain Hook’s Marina & Dive Center in the Florida Keys Have fun.
