There was a boat, I think called the "Scooby-Doo", that used to run out of that area(maybe Pascagoula)? Typically hit the oil rigs, lots of fish, can be great dives.

Scooby-Doo with Capt George Burton http://myweb.cableone.net/dixiemarine/
I have this phone number and when I called recently George is still doing
trips when he can get three or more divers to go: 228-392-8753
I went with him in Spring of '04 and the trip was great. Three
tanks with a lot of fish around, but because of bad weather we were
unable to go to some of the best spots. Still took home some nice
fish and had a ball and a little over three hours underwater according
to my computer. George is a great guy to dive with and if you get the
chance you will love it. Boat is nice and fast and well outfitted.
You can also contact Club Carribbean Dive Travel and they will know how to
contact him or some of the other dive operators if they are currently
running trips. http://www.ccdive.com
