Blacktip 'screen' problems

My Blacktip screen -- the white LED dot-matrix screen -- seems to be having problems. Last dive the screen stayed showing '3' even if I changed speeds and after the dive was over (until I removed the batteries back on land).

In the garage it doesn't seem to work any longer.


Anyone heard of issues?
Any way of disabling it altogether -- as it's rather irrelevant in use.

Strangely it's working again. Took it on a week's 70m diving and it worked flawlessly.

Except... there would always be a small amount of water in the tube, say a teaspoonful. Didn't seem to matter about depth (one dive was at 35m/115ft, rest between 60m/200ft and 70m/230ft) nor the amount of cleaning and very light greasing done to the O-rings.

Have now ordered a new set of O-rings.

It still works though!
