Hi everyone,

I'm new to the message board, but I've been diving about 6 years (mostly in cold, dark Pennsylvania lakes). After two group trips to Grand Bahama w/ a local dive shop I decided to book a trip to Bonaire through a travel agent. Having never done a dive trip w/o a group before, I was wondering if anyone could offer info about how the Bonaire dive ops are about hooking individual divers up w/ groups.

Unfortunately my traveling companion only snorkels, so I was hoping that I could find a dive partner or three to help me out with some of the sights (I'd prefer to not be limited to the Dive op's schedule).

If anyone is going to Bonaire the first week of Nov., and wants to meet up, please email me. Also, I'd appreciate any tips, hints, "must sees/must eat at . . ., etc."

Thanks,
Tom

Hi Tom and welcome to the board.
You will love Bonaire, I'm going in 43 days, not that I am counting. If you are boat diving, you can most likey find someone on the boat to buddy up with but the best part of diving in Bonaire is the shore diving and you need a buddy for that. The best advice is to try to find someone to go along with you (wonder if my wife would let me go without her....fat chance), otherwise, try to find someone at your resort that is in the same boat as you are, I would be willing to bet there are. check out these web sites http://www.infobonaire.com and http://www.bonairetalk.com/. A lot of answers to your questions can be found on the Bonairetalk site. A tip, all in your party need to take hard soled boots for their fins. The shore is rocky and the soft soled ones just don't cut it, esp with tanks and weights.
