You have also picked the best month for easy conditions. May is normally about as flat as it gets so hopefully you will be surfacing to a glass like sea and it will be a doddle. Most decent dive shops have custom made dive boats that are designed to be diver friendly. Sometimes rental boats have make shift ladders etc so if you go with a well established shop you will be very comfortable.
