Hi Akimbo,

Currently we are sold out of the Black Skirt / Clear lens and Black Skirt / Coated lens versions of the Spectrums...They sold out quickly! We are expecting to have more of those available in August.

We currently have Blue Skirt / Clear lens and Blue Skirt / Coated lens available and in stock now!

If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to me anytime!

Cheers.
Oh wow. That Spectrum looks really cool. You've got my attention. Does it have a surface air valve option? Can the standard OTS comm options be used with it?

Hi ScubaSteve85,

The Spectrum FFM does not have an Ambient Breathing Valve....yet. We are working on adding one to the opposite side of the communications port. We are hoping to have that available for purchase within the next year.

The Spectrum / Guardian / Stealth FFMs all share the same Earphone - Microphone Assemblies and Buddy Phones as they use the same mounting methods. So, you can take one off of one mask and swap it to another if you'd like!

Hi ScubaSteve85,

Just a thought: I used a crude snorkel made for one of the Italian-made FFMs back in the 1960s. It was literally chrome-plated copper pipe with soldered elbows. The "valve" was just a copper pipe cap with a gasket held on the end with rubber straps. I'm not suggesting that you copy it, but the function of a snorkel on a FFM was invaluable. IMHO, modern FFMs are nearly useless for shore diving even with any of the available ABVs, they are great on boats though.

I know you have a lot of devices competing for the two "sockets" on both sides of the second-stage socket in front, but I think a snorkel would increase the market for the mask. I've used almost all the FFMs over the years and must say that the Spectrum looks like it has great potential. Ideally, a FFM snorkel would have a mushroom valve for intake only and exhaust through the regulator. That "should" reduce fogging, dead air space, and improve air/water separation.

Very cool. Do you happen to know of there are any upcoming demo days at Dutch Springs?

OTS is going to have a demo day at Haigh Quarry, south of Chicago, in mid-July. Details on OTS' FB page.

Good Morning Akimbo,

Thank you for your suggestion - I will be sure to bring it up during our next design meeting to see if this is something that is viable.

Cheers!

IS there a way for someone using an OTS mas with comms to talk to someone on the boat?

The OTS SSB-2010 and the CDK-6 conversion kit is probably the cheapest way to get a surface comm going. It's cheaper than the briefcase station.
