When I bought my Archimede, I could have sworn that the literature and reviews said that it has a gauge mode.

Well, it does and it doesn't.

If you go into deco and blow off its deco plan for at least 3 minutes the computer switches to gauge mode for 48 hours. It then resumes being a computer.

There is no way to manually switch to gauge mode that I can find.

Just so you know.

that has a gauge mode you can enter into b4 diving. the original Archemedes did not have this feature.

To switch from DIVE mode to Gauge mode you must have the computer SIT for at least 48 hours and to switch back from GAUGE to DIVE there must be a 48 hours SIT also.
When you blow your mandatory deco time the computer enter in Error mode and do not compute any saturation calculation for at least 48 hrs.
