When a cavern turns into a cave when it silts up pretty much "muddies" up the distinction problem. I am not a cave fan, and have had interesting experiences when caverns have turned on me like a bad dog. The "daylight zone" may change without your permission. Know what you are dealing with and don't trust "safe" overheads.
