Diving in Jacksonville/Mayport

Yeah, I'm jonesing for a dive, soon. Unfortunately, Troy is closed due to the Suwannee (flooding). Hopefully, it will open up soon. If not, I may be hitting up the Grotto sooner rather than later.

^Hey I am heading back to Florida, but this time I am going to Key West for vacation. My girlfriend and I are planning on diving the majority of the trip and was curious if you have had any good experiences with any particular dive shops down and around there. We plan on staying in more than one place: Key West, Key Largo, etc. Thanks!!

I've dove with Dive Duck Key, the Thunderbolt (amazing dive)

Florida Keys scuba diving trips, Dive Duck Key, Hawk's Cay Resort

and Key Dives in Islamorada (the Eagle). Good places both.

Thanks! I think we are def. going to do Islamorada for sure!! I wish we could do the Dive Duck wreck dive, but we only have our open water certification Are there any other wrecks around the Keys that are shollower than 100'?

You can do the Eagle without going deeper than 100'. Most of the good stuff is 90 - 100'. When I did the Eagle I stayed above 95' the entire dive. Thunderbolt is a different story.

We leave this weekend so we are SUPER pumped!!! BTW, we weren't planning on wearing a wetsuit. We thought we could probably get away with just shorts and a rash guard...what do you think???
