Never been diving in St. Thomas. However, we made 2 trips to Aruba. Stayed at the Marriott (great hotel), went diving with Red Sail - excellent operation. Diving was fine. It's not like Key Largo, or Bonaire/Curacao, however. Red Sail does shallow and deep trips. Plenty of stuff to do in Aruba - very built up.
