Hello fellow divers,

Hi stone,

thks for your recommendations.

It sure makes good reading materials while on the net...but i am also looking for books which i can bring along while travelling to work or on the move....you know any?

Thanks again....

There is a very good physiology book that I have, but it only has one chapter on diving physiology. It is a med school book so it is pretty comprehensive (pricy too).

Guyton: Medical Physiology

I just found this book too, looks decent and has good reviews.

Diving Physiology

My order of preference. Be sure to purchase most recent edition:

Diving Medicine, Alfred A. Bove, Harcourt Brace

Diving & Subaquatic Medicine, Carl Edmonds , Christopher Lowry & John Pennefather, Butterworth-Heinemann

The Physiology & Medicine of Diving, David H. Elliott & Peter B. Bennett, Harcourt Brace

Happy shopping.

Thanks alot guys.

I'm gonna go to my local bookstore and check with them.......

As DocV says don't get stuck with old editions.

Bove's book has a 4th edition coming out in July 2003
Bennett's book just had the new 5th edition last month (Jan 2003) and is available on the DAN web site.
Edmond's latest edition is the 4th from 2002.

There are a lot of the older editions that bookstores are trying to unload so be careful not to get stuck with one unless a real bargain.

For the non medical person Edmond's seems the most readable.
