Diving with or without bands?

Heh, my wife and I didn't even take our wedding rings on the honeymoon. I don't think we'll ever dive with them. We have gone diving with cheap rings on, though. I may rethink that after hearing FredT's story, though.

My husband and I dive together. We both do not dive with our rings on. They stay at home. I have lost soooo many jewels (earrings especially) in the water, that it's just not worth it. All of my jewelry stays at home.

What would I use it for under water?
