Here again, change the question.
Rather than denying a part of the travelling public air transportation, (it is public transportation - and there's the rub) would you be willing to pay a bit extra to fly on a plane that had a "crying room" much like in the back of many older theaters?
Or to pay a lot more to charter your own plane?
'Course if I'm on your plane and I happen to doze off, you won't hear the engines, the children or the movie...
Personally, I carry foam earplugs.

To quote a book (if you know it bonus points and a gold star for you) - "The best laid plans of mice and men are oft times foiled."

"To A Mouse" by Robert Burns, 1785 but it wasn't a book it was a poem. Or did you mean that other reference?

At any rate that is sort of the point. You admit that no matter how hard you tried you still made people suffer for 4 hours. And for what? Was the child old enough to enjoy this vacaction? Were you able to fully enjoy yours with the restrictions imposed by haveing a child around?

IMHO, until such time as a child is old enough to actually enjoy a vacation, a week with grandma is a far better plan. One thing I particularly find amusing is Disney World trips. People never seem to understand that children have to be a little older to appreciate Disney World, come noon start looking around, the park is full of unhappy kids who have just "had too much" for the day.

Gold star.. Burns the primary reference and 'the other' was a partial.

Overall, people only suffered 15-20 minutes or so in the only outrage fit he's had either prior or post to this flight. Did he enjoy the trip? I think so, it was going to visit grandpa and other family members whom I had not seen for several years and couldn't affort to trip down to see us since they have 3 little ones of their own they are caring for.

Did we enjoy it? Abasolutely. We did a great deal of hiking mixed with some sight seeing and family visits. EVERYTHING we did he was integrated on. Everywhere he went he saw new sights, sounds, and people. This whole trip and visit was geared around my dad and his side of the family meeting my wife (which they hadn't) and meeting our son (which occured in year interum of our first trip being cancelled due to work projects superceeding travel convenience). Especially enjoyed was hiking in the Adirondacks by both the adults and little ones.

Here's a hint for parents reading this that want to go to theme parks with their little one from one who lives in the state of theme parks: Go in the later afternoon/evening. The parks are open till 9 or 10 anyway, the heat of the day is going away, the rides have little or no lines after about 6pm, and you get to see the fireworks at park closing.

Unlike you Im not raising a child, I RAISED three to adulthood and I am very happy with the results.

1/ "you dont control a child's eating and sleeping habits" BULL a parent with the attitude I don't care about anyone else will not attempt to.

2/ ( sick child ) '\" its not cheap to change a flight ($100) So go ahead put a price on your child's health and welfare, I would expect it from a immature and selfish persone.

And just for your information as you seem to like to jump to conclusions, I was not a only child but the oldest with responsibilities of looking out for the younger one .
I had a great time raising my kids, ladder onto the roof to take the kids star gazeing on a clear night etc.
Yes you could say I was nomadic while raising my kids I was serving my country so that selfish irresponsible parents can make my life hell.
I did not take offense I have come to expect that kind of attitude from selfish people:) Im happy

My apologies, the reply posted gave the impression of someone looking down their nose at others.

Duno about you, but $100 to me is the difference between chicken and ramen noodles for one pay period. I don't know how my wife does it, but we have managed that for 2 weeks of groceries for a few months now. If the economy doesnt change soon, thats going to be going for a lot longer to.

Know what you mean been a bad year for me, Aug last year diagnosed with prostrate cancer had it taken out (no option it was that bad) =three month out of work then two weeks ago I had a small stroke in my sleep woke up and could not move my left arm = no work. I was booked to go to PNG and OZ Oct fourth but I dont know now. I see a DAN specialist on the 8th and he will tell me, If I have to delay plans I will count myself lucky if I can get away with a $200 loss, two tickets wife and I.

Of course they should be allowed. The questions is should their parents be allowed. They are responsible for their childrens actions.

If we only had a machine that could call in to question the parents life skills. What a sweet life I would have with the residuals from that invention.

Typically (not always) kids are a by product of their parents. Hold the true culprits responsible.

Yes , 2 kids age 14 and 11 now. I have exited movies, ballgames, grocery stores, theme parks etc.. all to ensure I did not totally disrupt someone elses PAID vacation. I am sure they need it as much as me.

Until now, I never thought divers got cranky. I only read the first page of these posts, and was pretty disgusted. First off, if someone can't dive, maybe divers that can dive should teach the ones that can't dive to be able to. Everyone should be able to dive!! It is too amazing to make it an exclusive sport. It should be for everyone. Secondly if you are going to let a kid's criing ruin your vacation, maybe you need a longer vacation, or maybe you should go to Antartica where no one can bother you.

I am not saying that parents should let there kids run around and be obnoxious, but kids will be kids, if you don't want to see them lock your self in your house and be the cratchity old man that yells at the kid for hitting a baseball into your yard.

First I dont agree with young children diving if they cannot behave like a young adult while traveling and staying in a public place why the h-ll would a sane adult take them diving.
Seconde I would rather be a cratchity old man than a imature irresponsible young one.

And once again we are off.

Dee if I were you I would pull this thread its not going to cover any more ground than it has.
