brianwl:
Welcome. Sicne I'm relatively new to the St Louis area, where is Beecher with regard to St Louis? I know you said you dive Mermet, just wondering where else we could blow bubbles. :eyebrow:

Beecher City is approx. 80 miles east of St. Louis. Take 70 east to St. Elmo and Get on 40 east for about 3 miles to 128 north for 12 miles to 32/33 east one mile that's Beecher City. The other place within a 2 to 3 hour driving distance from me is Haigh Quarry at Kankakee. Other than that there's a place I'm going here in about 30 minutes which is an abondoned rock quarry. It's limited vis though, not sure if your into that or not. I go there when I don't have much time to drive anywhere else. It doesn't bother me. Mainly because I occasionly build docks and end up in zero vis anyways. :eyebrow: I'm working on another quarry owned by a oil company which is 54 feet deep and every bit as clear as Mermet. So far though no official word on being able to dive it with "permission granted".

NetDoc:
I can relate... most of my life was spent without the benefit of a c-card. I did learn quite a bit in reading the book and even some skills with my instructor. I'm just glad I didin't die holding my breath... which was a biggie I didn't know about!

Holding my breathe wasn't a real biggy for me. I understood the physics pretty good from what I learned from the net. I did learn how to read and plan for repetitive dives though. That was my biggy. I just always thought that headaches was just a part of diving. Wrong. It is a wonder that I didn't get a trip to a recomprssion chamber on a number of occasions. :11:

We didn't need no steekin physics in the 70's. :D We just jumped in and farted around till the air ran out... hopefully the rod was still up! :D

Howdy!

But you've got to allow us an occasional chew or two. We may use our well worn falsies. Just watch out for last weeks dinner in the cracks. Help yourself if you're hungry.
