Just out of curiosity (and actually because Im considering the red sea as my next trip) what are the water temps like there?
Its about as close to the equator as Mexico, which would suggest to me similar tempratures?

The water temperature varies from a chilly 18 to more than 30 Celcius in the Red Sea. Local DM:s where drysuits during winter time in Sinai and you can dive in swimming trunks or a lycra skin in Sudan during late spring-summer and early fall. It all depends on where and when.

Bigger span than in mexico then in other words.
However 18 celcius is not what id define as "chilly" myself. Not even close infact...
