What do you think? The divers in question were following the letter of the law. Yet there is apparently an unwirtten understanding for this area not to take given its popularity as a dive spot. Thoughts?

Climate change and overfishing have apparently led to the collapse of the Caribbean sardine fishery. This really should come as no surprise. Without conservation and changes in habits, we will continue to see this sort of thing.

What do the next four years hold for ocean conservancy? Who can really say. Here's one take on the subject. What can you do? Make some noise - call your congressman, call your senator, demand reforms in support of conservation. If we do nothing, then future generations will not have a planet on which they can live.

BP has plead guilty to criminal and other charges. They have been fined a record $4.5B - you know what - YOU CANNOT FIX WHAT THEY DID WITH MONEY! The environmental damage will persist for decades! The fishing industry there is in a shambles and there are persistent health problems in people and wildlife! This is our current premier example of why we MUST shift to cleaner energy solutions! -
