We were in FtLauderdale in April; Panama City Beach in late May.

Boat diving; both areas overly crowded for my taste, but both with nice beaches & reasonably warm water. Panama City Beach on the gulf coast has whiter sand, but may get algae at some times of year. (I'm not sure about FtLauderdale).

Lots of topside activities with both.

Snorkeling possible w/ both.

One plus at PC Beach is that at the time we went, wild dolphins swim within sight of shore.

If you go to the Gulf Coast, avoid Memorial Day like the plague!!!!

Brad - thanks for the links. I'll check them out. Keeping Mom hapy is the goal! :D

HDTRAN - thanks for the tip about Memorial Day.

If I may "hijack" the thread (it's been a while since it was used...so I don't feel too bad)...and add a specific question...

Any "all inclusive" resorts in Florida?

So what's my definition of all inclusive?
All food and lodging
On-site family activities (pool, games, etc.)
"Day-care" for my five year old...at lease for most of the day available for little or no cost
Other entertainment options...trips/tours/etc.

Diving doesn't need to be included...as that can always be done with other ops...

Thanks!
