Hi Stacey,

Welcome to ScubaBoard.
I was on Lido Key during hurricane Jeanne and it made for an interesting vacation.
I can imagine that all of those storms must have really messed up the diving.
Enjoy!

Hiya Stacey! Welcome to ScubaBoard, the LARGEST online diving virtual SIT and information emporium in the world and on the net! Be sure to check out the Florida Conch Divers section of ScubaBoard - a group of us is always diving somewhere most any day of the week (more on weekends..hmmmm ).

Please explore the board and jump in anywhere to leave your 2 psi! If you have any questions, don't feel shy to ask!!

Welcome to ScubaBoard! :happywave

Don't forget to fill out your profile and dive info, so that we can add context to your future posts. Also, once we know where you are geographically from your profile, you may find that you'll have a whole bunch of new dive buddies to choose from locally.

Dive safe!

Christian

P.S. Due to the high volume of new posts in the Introductions and Greets forum, it's not always possible to keep up with all the new posts here. So, please help me out and send me a PM if you post anything you want me to read or repsond to in this forum.

My turn..

Howdy!

And welcome to SB - the biggest, the best, the fastest growing, and :D the friendliest!
If you'll simply click ScubaBoard.com above, you'll be taken to our long list of forums, a wealth of information and resources. My favorite is at the bottom: Singles Dive Club. Several of us are meeting in Key Largo Nov 12-14; let me know if you'd be interested.

Completing your Profile with location and seperately - your Dive Info will help in future diving discussions. You can use the Quick Links menu above for this. Sizing a photo for your profile or Avatar can be a challenge; I'm a fumbling amateur, but I get the job done, if you'd like any help?

PM me if I can help you learn your way around; that is - click my username to the upper left, then follow the prompts to send me a "Personal Message." :thumb:

Hey everyone. I'm Stacey. I'm 26 and live in Fort Lauderdale. I just got certified in late August and, thanks to all the hurricanes, have made exactly TWO dives since certification.. Happy to find a board to kill my time during all this no-diving time.

Hi Stacey,

Let me chime in with Scuba_Jenny about the Florida Conchs and the diving opportunities in the area. These guys are great dive buddies and good friends. I lived in Hollywood for the past 10 months, and we had lots of super times both in and out of the water. I wish I had known the Conchs when I was starting out.

By the way, the beach diving there is fantastic. Be sure to check out the Trips and Happenings thread under the Florida Conch Divers forum to find out about specific dives.

Welcome to the board. Best wishes and safe ascents,
Grier
