Heya people =) gona be home & making a trip on the 28th (yay!) & wanted to know where i can rent some gear. i'm gona be bringing everything cept tanks (i think i even have some room for some lead in my checked bags? less most dive shops there loan out their lead). but more specificaly do any dive shops loan out cameras? scuba luv on catalina did, but now with the light being shined on the costs of doing catalina based charters & mainland based charters i duno if i'm gona be going to catalina for a charter. i'll probably go for a weekend casino point dive, but not an over night stay & boat charter (unless santa's nice to me & finds me some extra cash over the christmas holiday =p). can someone point me to a reputible place in the torrance area for gear rentals & if anyone knows of a place that rents out cameras in about a 30 to 40 mile radius from torrance, would be willing to travel =) thanks guys =)

Sports Chalet in Torrance will do you just fine. As for the camera, you can by a reusable film camera good to 125 feet for $14,99 or a use once and throw away camera for $12,99 at sports chalet. http://www.sportchalet.com.

If you need the room the rent tank, weights, computer, regulator (with octo), wetsuit for $45,00 a day. Just bring the mask, fin, snorkle, boots and gloves.

Dive-N-Surf will also hook you up.

i'm gona be bringing most of my gear: bc, reg set up, suit, mask, snorkle, boots & fins. i'm familiar with it so i wont be uncomfortable in the water with it. thanks for the pointer on gear though, i'll look into getting that low end camera, looks promising for low budget productions till i can afford a digital that actualy has sony support for an underwater case (currently have a DSC P72 =/ )

Edit : yeah, the 7 mill is required out here too, fricken crazy how cold it is here =( i thought the east coast was supposed to be getting the warm water from the south due to ocean currents =p

For camera rentals, try Pacific Wilderness. San Pedro is not too far from Torrance.
