dont know how much help ill be, but i did shore diving in lauderdale by the sea back in jan/feb.

it was a while ago and with the recent hurricane im sure everything's changed.

but vis was awesome about 50-100ft temps were great in the 60's and wildlife was def there. got to see a few sea tutrtles, tons of jellyfish, of course the reefs were in great condition and few small sunken trinkets.

but again, im sure its all changed with the hurricane stirring it up

I live here in South Florida.. There is no way to know what conditions will be like this weekend, but they are predicting 60 feet+ visibility. Water temp in the mid 80's. I dove this weekend after Irene passed, vis was about 40 feet, and tons of fish and lobster taking refuge on the reef. Lots of Jellyfish. The Jellyfish are supposed to thin out this weekend but who knows? They dont bother me much, but some were complaining. If you think its going to be a problem, a 2mil wet suit or rash guard should be plenty to cover you. One thing you can do is check the local dive charters Facebook pages, and dive shops Facebook pages as well. they generally have up to the 1/2 day updates on their Facebook pages.

Vis was 40' or better today with minimal Jellyfish. Im going to head up to Jupiter this weekend and see how things look up there!

I shore dove in hollywood last night and it was not too good. Vis was less than 20 feet. There was a moderate chop, and it was windy
