"It's two dives, the front is where they filmed parts of "The Deep" - the scene where Jacqueline Bisset shoots out of the hold - that was there." - Moderator

I've just returned from Bermuda and dove "South West Breaker", and was told that it was here that most of
the scene's from "The Deep" was filmed. Not that it really matter's, but I'd like to know which it was...
"South West Breaker" is only about 35 feet at most, while the "Rhone" is a much deeper. Seems more difficult to film back in 1977. Was told that the film might have been based upon "The Rhone", but filmed in Bermuda!
Any idea?
Her wreckage was also featured in the 1977 filming of The Deep, including a scene of Jacqueline Bisset diving in a T-shirt.
RMS Rhone - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The shipwreck featured in the movie is actually the Royal Mail Ship RMS Rhone, which sank in 1867 off the coast of Salt and Peter Islands in the British Virgin Islands with 125 of 135 of her crew losing their lives. The RMS Rhone broke into two pieces during the sinking. This movie was filmed at the bow section of the ship located about 75 feet underwater.

You’ll also see where the 1977 film classic The Deep was shot and get to swim through the amazingly intact bow section as well as under the stern near the large 15 ft propeller.

I don't know for certain. I was told that at DiveBVI.

Next month. Any advice is appreciated. My daughter and I will be diving. Outside of our cert dives, we have only done two dives in Key Largo about a year or so ago. She has basic and I have completed the rescue cert. When I was in St. Thomas last (before getting certified) I stopped in the dive shop at Bolongo Bay and chatted with them so they are an option but we are staying on St. John so I was thinking about Cruz Bay Watersports. What are your toughts? All are appreciated.
Find someone going to Cow and Calf Rocks. Those are easy shallow dives.

Grass Cay is closer but not as good.

If Cruz Bay Watersports or Low Key doesn't work for you, Red Hook Dive Center is five mins. from the car ferry terminal on the St. Thomas side - their boat is moored in the marina there. All their DM's are Instructors. They're closer than Bolongo Bay.

OP here, I just got back from my trip. I tried to contact 6paq scuba which had pretty good reviews from people on this board and elsewhere, but tried via sms and email but got no response. Not what I'm looking for in a dive shop.

I ended up going with Cruz Bay Watersports located at the Wyndham. They were a good shop. Went with the divemaster Tony one day, and Amy and another female divemaster the second day. First day there were just 5 of us, the second day there were 11 total. The dive sites weren't too deep as there were a few beginners including my wife and were guided by the divemasters. The second day one of the dives included the General Rogers wreck, which was pretty cool. There we dove our own air.

All in all I'd recommend them, good smooth operation with capable divemasters.
