RumBum:
Oh, and Diversion spring is capped again in Spring Lake so I guess the current might have slowed down some with that. That is an ugly thing they put over Diversion; I know that the Aquarena people had no say in it though.

When was it uncapped? Dang, that must have been fun to dive around...

Snorkeled SM River today, what a great time. I think I might get a tank out tomorrow and hang around some of the deeper parts a little longer. Great viz, TONS of fish. There is a spot next to the falls that has around 300 or so just hanging out. Several species. I need to learn them so I can identify. Can't wait to get back in there tomorrow.

Well we went back and put a couple of tanks on it. It was a lot of fun. My daughter didn't like the idea of staying alone while I went under the falls, so I didn't get to see that. But we hung out near the falls with the fish. Tons of snails there I didn't notice before. Very cool.

Then we floated down to the part in between University park and Lion's park(?) and looked for holes in the tall grass. There were pockets of large fish in there just hanging out. My guessitmation were that they were Tilapia from what I remember from the Aquarena Springs aquarium tour :)

We had an absolute blast this weekend. I wish we had two cars so we could just drift drive the whole river for a while. That would be great.

Oh I forgot, the temp wasn't that bad at all in the river. Just a little brisk. We just went in swimsuits for the snorkeling. I wore my 3mm when we put the tanks on and was completely cozy in the river. I just checked my dive computer and the water temp was 72 degrees with a max depth of 9 feet :)
