Good idea or bad idea? 2000+ ft run to wreck.

I'd move the line to someplace recreational divers don't usually go ... and not advertise where you put it.

This past week-end I did a dive to a wreck sitting at about 200 feet off one of the coves where OW training normally takes place. A line to the wreck starts in about 20 feet of water ... but is located sufficiently far from the dive site entrance that it is unlikely in the extreme that anyone doing a normal recreational dive in the cove would ever stumble across it. The tech community generally knows where it is ... and since this dive pretty much requires a scooter, we just put in at the cove and scooter over to where the line begins. Seems like that might work for you guys ... just don't mention to the shop owner where the line got relocated to. If he wants to search for it, that's between him and Darwin ...

And now I've found the coordinates I see the problem lol.

It's not too much of a wreck, but worth the swim/scooter with a proper gas plan.

Graeme, where did you start the line from ? Morisson Minet Point or another place? Last year, we made few runs to the location where it suppose to be from Minet Point but we never saw the wreck Although the bottom profile indicated we were close The old line was probably removed. We were running for roughly 3000 ft from Minet point.

This was mentioned to the shop owner, who quickly proceeded to tell us to. " get off your high horse"

Maybe you guys will pass him getting off your high horses as he's getting on to the witness stand in a court...
