Do what I do: Bic it!

Moved from Introductions & Greets forum.

It's called the buff. I use them for hiking, biking, diving, and the gym. You buy them at Rei or www.rei.com but there is a really great selection at www.buffwear.com.

I think you will all really like these.

Have fun - remember, it's all about the dive!!

My hair is long but layered and I usually have the flyaways (or swimaways) too. However, I have found that the best (and cheapest) way to deal with my hair is to have french braided pigtails. My dive instructor says I'm not fooling anyone with the pigtails, but hey, whatever keeps my hair out of my eyes (and mask)!

The headbands that they wear on Survivor are called "Buffwear". It's available at REI.com. http://www.rei.com Great colors!!!

Also...check out the article on Hoods and Hair under the beauty section on my website...may find some helps there as well. http://www.girldiver.com

Best of "locks" to you!

Cindy

Get a Lycra hood! Or any kind of dive hood - I never dove without one and it was great for keeping my hair tamed. Especially important when learning to dive - you don't need any distractions.

Welcome to the world of diving!

My hairglove keeps my long hair in one place. www.hairglove.com
I have the 12 inch neoprene. You can't order it online, you have to call or email them.

Good tips here, I like the buffwear site and also Cindy's girldiver site:wink:

Whatever you do, make sure your hair is not flowing free.
I looked up once when swimming in horizontal position, and my hair got stuck on the tap of my air bottle.

Couldn't untangle it, and couldn't lower my head anymore...
I had to do the whole dive with my head in my neck.:xeye:

On that boat the crew would be waiting to pull the stabjack off of you the moment you would climb on board.
I shouted "Don't!" and explained the problem, thinking they would carefully try to untangle my hear, but of course they looked and then decided to just use some extra force. :saeek:

I guess I was lucky that I only lost half of my hair, and not my scalp :429:
