Congratulations and welcome! Diving is an awesome adventure and how cool that you and your daughter get to do it together! Id try different BCD's to see what you like, a few pockets are good to have. You will want to each buy dive computers and I recommend a back up as well. I have a Suunto Zoop as primary computer (wrist mount) and Mares Puck as back up computer (strapped to BC). They are both entry level but do everything I need. I really like the Zoop, super easy to use.
I agree AOW and Rescue are awesome courses. I also enjoyed UW photography, After about 40 dives I bought a SeaLife DC1400 but get some diving experince first and get the buoyancy dialed in, then you can get some amazing photos and feel comfortably with the task loading!
Happy Diving
