Hello, LEO from Madison WI

Hello Everyone,

My name is Dan Hamilton and I'm a LEO from the Madison, Wisconsin area. In my former life I was a hazmat tech with the Marines and Army for 9 years beforetransitioning into my current career. I regret not making time for SCUBA whilein K-Bay or Oki, but looking forward to taking the plunge this June. If thereare any other LEO's on the board, I would very much like to hear from you asour department explores the option of a dive team.

I have the basic elements from my snorkeling excursions, but would lovefeedback on the next step. At this point I am considering a regulator, BCD andcomputer but unsure if I have funding for all three components before the Junecourse. Which items would you recommend I break in during pool time? I amconsidering the Legend LX Supreme or Titan LX Supreme for WI cold waters andLake Michigan dives. My wife and I also take beach-cations every winter to getaway from the job and winters, so I'd like something I can use in any climatew/ no issue. For dive computer I am looking at the Suunto Cobra.

Any ideaswould be greatly appreciated, and I'm looking forward to becoming a member of this community.

I have no idea why some words merged together in my initial intro, and I can't go back to edit...thank you again for those who have helped answer questions in the forum. I want to be an educated buyer when the time comes after OW course. There are so many options out there, and I have learned more here in two days than in local shops I have frequented in the past month. Thanks again.
